Economic development website receives
“Award of Excellence”

The Montgomery County, VA Department of Economic Development (MCDED) is pleased to announce that its www.YesMontgomeryVA.org website received an “Award of Excellence” from the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC). SEDC is a regional association of economic development professionals, with members in 17 southern states, making it the largest regional economic development association in North America. The website was on display last weekend at the 2010 SEDC Conference in New Orleans.
YesMontgomeryVA.org is an economic development website promoting Montgomery County-Blacksburg-Christiansburg, Virginia and is the official website of MCDED. It was developed to be a resource for prospective and existing Montgomery County-Blacksburg-Christiansburg businesses and residents.
The project was a partnership between MCDED and the Economic Development Authority of Montgomery County, VA. MCDED staff also worked closely with
Blacksburg-based NewCity to design the layout and aesthetics of the website and received additional support from Virginia Tech, the Town of Blacksburg and QSend Technologies, Inc.
MCDED formally launched YesMontgomeryVA.org on April 12 (Read News Release). Since that time, it has recorded just over 3,000 visits and 11,000 page views from 28 different countries and 39 states. To view more statistics, click on the charts below.
